How to improve VoIP quality of service.

If you are adding a BUC appliance to an existing network with VoIP you could leave your VoIP setup in place, i.e. let the ISP modem/router handle the VoIP.

If you run VoIP through the BUC, and you are having quality issues you'll need to create a QOS rule to handle the VoIP traffic.

How to create a QOS VoIP Rule:

  1. Log into your BUC appliance at http://192.168.10.1
  2. Go to Firewall then QOS
  3. Enable Quality of Service
  4. Create a SIP rule
    • Under Add New Classification Rule check Destination Port(s):
    • Type 5060
    • Set service class to VoIP
  5. Add New Rule
  6. Save Changes
